Choose a High Chair That is Easy! – Part 2

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Nomi by Evomove. All opinions are my own.

A lot of high chairs on the market have been designed with the wrong priorities in mind. In my clinical experience, most high chairs do not grow with the child, which places children in unsafe feeding positions, leading to tantrums, food refusals, and difficult mealtimes.

I educate parents to choose a high chair whose features are functional and, most importantly, easy. In part 1 of this blog series, I discussed 4 tips for parents to choose a high chair that is: (1) easy to adjust the footrest, (2) easy to clean, (3) easy to move, and (4) easy to attach (and remove) the tray. Here are three additional tips for choosing a high chair that is stress-free for you and your bundle of joy!

Easy to Transform from a Bouncer to a High Chair

The Nomi Baby is a raised bouncer attachment available as an accessory for the Nomi High Chair. It is lightweight, so you can move it effortlessly around the house. This means your baby can be placed securely in the bouncer and join you while cooking in the kitchen, eating in the dining room, or having a snack in front of the TV. The bouncer easily attaches to the stem of the High Chair, allowing you to keep your newborn close to you at the dinner table. This is a crucial pre-feeding step that exposes your little one to the smells, sounds, and sights of mealtime. These early food experiences can help encourage an adventurous eater!

Once your newborn reaches six months of age (or 20 pounds), you can take off the bouncer attachment and easily convert it into the Nomi High Chair. This transformation is a simple process, requiring no tools and zero stress! It’s also an important developmental step for your baby since the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends waiting to start solids until six months of age. To ensure the safe introduction of solid foods, your baby should be positioned in a high chair that can grow and adapt as they develop.

  • AVOID high chairs that don’t grow with your baby.
  • CHOOSE a high chair that has functional solutions as your newborn grows while keeping your baby in sight, supported, and safe.

Easy to Match Your Aesthetics

Sometimes, if parents don’t like their high chair’s aesthetic, they won’t use it. This can, unfortunately, lead to lap feedings or allowing your baby to just snack instead of eating meals together as a family. Your baby’s feeding chair will be a consistent part of your home for two years, so it’s okay to choose one that is stylish!

  • AVOID a high chair that you want to put away because it is not aesthetically pleasing.
  • CHOOSE a high chair that fits with your style so you can always have it available whenever you or your baby wants to eat. The Nomi High Chair comes in 4 different wood grains and 9 stunning colors that can easily match your kitchen or dining room esthetic! (The high chair color pictured is Grey with a White Oak stem, which is one of my personal favorites!)

Easy to Transition into a Toddler Chair

A high chair is the most crucial piece of equipment for safe feeding; therefore, you want to spend your money on ONE feeding chair that will grow with your baby. Buying a chair that grows with your baby will save you the expense and stress of purchasing a high chair, and then a booster seat, and then a toddler chair. And it will also save you from future food refusals and mealtime tantrums commonly associated with switching out mealtime chairs.

  • AVOID high chairs that don’t grow with your baby.
  • CHOOSE a high chair that works for your baby as soon as you start solids and that easily converts into a toddler chair too! The Nomi High Chair quickly turns into the Nomi “Chair” by removing the tray, harness, and restraint. You can use the chair for years after the high chair phase as a toddler chair, a homework chair, or a crafting chair. When I’m not using mine to feed kiddos, it doubles as my desk chair since it can hold up to 330 pounds! All components and materials pass worldwide European, American, and Chinese safety standards, unprecedented in the baby product world!

I hope these tips will help you find the high chair for your family’s dynamics. Having the right equipment that seamlessly grows with your family will make mealtime safer and more enjoyable for everyone!

Happy Feeding!
